About the Program
The Measurement Systems Developer Incentive Program (DIP) is a unique project designed to maximize our network measurement capability by creating an incentive for independent software vendors (ISVs) and independent App Developers to embed our measurement software library into their existing program(s). This expands our network of sensors that help measure customer networks end-to-end, between the network infrastructure and millions of subscriber devices. Our customers use this information to improve network access and increase network performance for everyone by finding difficult-to-isolate network bottlenecks and underperforming cellular locations that often go unnoticed. The project also helps support privacy standards and human rights by measuring network transparency. Our software detects proxies and other devices within networks that may be used to impact subscriber privacy, freedom and choice.
In exchange for adding our library to existing program(s), developers may receive one or more of several technical and financial benefits. For example, developers receive a far more energy-efficient and accurate geolocation capability they can use inside their app. The location service provided by our library contains algorithms and filters developed by mathematicians and computer scientists and offers better results than the geolocation capability provided by the native platform libraries (such as LocationManager) by using advanced filtering and vectoring algorithms. Amazingly, the result is more fine-grain location-fixing capability with more efficient battery use (afforded by less time processing GPS signal updates and other factors).
